Fuzzy Random Variables*

چکیده
In practice we are often faced with random experiments whose outcomes are not numbers (or vectors in &I”) but are expressed in inexact linguistic terms. As an example, consider a group of individuals chosen at random who are questioned about the weather on a particular city on a particular winter day. Some possible answers would be “cold,” “more or less cold,” “very cold,” “ extremely cold,” and so on. A natural question which arises with reference to this example is: What is the average opinion about the weather in that particular city? A possible way of handling situations like this is by using the concepts of fuzzy sets and fuzzy functions [24] found useful in many applications, notably in pattern recognition, clustering, information retrieval, and systems analysis (cf. [ 161). Motivated by examples of the type given above and related problems (especially concerning group opinions), we introduce fuzzy random variables and their expectations, and we investigate some of their properties.

SOME PROBABILISTIC INEQUALITIES FOR FUZZY RANDOM VARIABLES
In this paper, the concepts of positive dependence and linearlypositive quadrant dependence are introduced for fuzzy random variables. Also,an inequality is obtained for partial sums of linearly positive quadrant depen-dent fuzzy random variables. Moreover, a weak law of large numbers is estab-lished for linearly positive quadrant dependent fuzzy random variables. Weextend some well known inequ...
متن کاملFuzzy Random Variables
Fuzziness is discussed in the context of multivalued lo&, and a corresponding view of fuzzy sets is given. Fuzzy random variables are introduced as random variables whose values are not real but fuzzy numbers, and subsequently redefined as a particular kind of fuzzy set. Expectations of fuzzy random variables, characteristic f~cti~ of fuzzy events, probabilities connected to fuzzy random variab...
متن کاملNew independence definition of fuzzy random variable and random fuzzy variable∗
Fuzzy random variable is a measurable function from a probability space to the set of fuzzy variables, while random fuzzy variable is a function from a credibility space to the set of random variables. The concepts of independent and identically distributed fuzzy random variables and random fuzzy variables are presented, and some useful properties are discussed.
متن کاملESTIMATORS BASED ON FUZZY RANDOM VARIABLES AND THEIR MATHEMATICAL PROPERTIES
In statistical inference, the point estimation problem is very crucial and has a wide range of applications. When, we deal with some concepts such as random variables, the parameters of interest and estimates may be reported/observed as imprecise. Therefore, the theory of fuzzy sets plays an important role in formulating such situations. In this paper, we rst recall the crisp uniformly minimum ...

متن کاملOPTIMAL STATISTICAL TESTS BASED ON FUZZY RANDOM VARIABLES
A novel approach is proposed for the problem of testing statistical hypotheses about the fuzzy mean of a fuzzy random variable. The concept of the (uniformly) most powerful test is extended to the (uniformly) most powerful fuzzy-valued test in which the test function is a fuzzy set representing the degrees of rejection and acceptance of the hypothesis of interest. For this purpose, the concepts o...
